Common Problems & Solutions For Overseas Non‑Fired Brick Plant Operation

Many overseas brick plants face troubles like brick cracking, low compression strength, mold sticking and insufficient output after machine startup. Most problems are not machine defects, but caused by wrong raw‑material ratio, moisture content or operation procedures.

Problem1: Bricks are weak and easy to break

Cause: Insufficient cement proportion, too high / too low material moisture, insufficient pressing force, uneven mixing.

Solution: Adjust cement percentage; strictly control water content; check hydraulic pressure for static press; guarantee enough mixing time in pan mixer.

Problem2: Green bricks crack or chipped corners during demoulding

Cause: Excess material moisture, worn mold cavity, wrong demoulding speed, improper brick curing.

Solution: Reduce water percentage; repair worn mold by surfacing welding; adjust machine demoulding parameter. Fresh wet bricks should not be exposed under direct strong sunlight.

Problem3: Material sticks to mold cavity, bad brick surface

Cause: Rough worn mold surface, too much soil impurity inside raw material, over‑high moisture.

Solution: Polish and repair mold cavity; filter soil impurities from aggregate; keep correct mixing water ratio.

Problem4: Real output lower than machine theoretical capacity

Cause: Batching & mixer cannot feed enough material for main press; unskilled operator; lack of routine maintenance.

Solution: Make sure every unit has matched capacity; train operators with English operation manual; replace wearing parts on time and keep regular lubrication.

Important note: Curing is extremely critical for non‑fired bricks. Newly‑made green bricks cannot be exposed to heavy rain or sharp sun shine. Minimum curing period 7‑14 days is required to reach full brick strength. Some factories own good machines but skip proper curing, still get poor‑quality bricks.
